coffeeshop photoshop actions

I found this cool collection of Photoshop actions from CoffeeShop I wanted to share. Actions are cool because they’re easy to use and I love going through the steps and seeing how other photographers achieve certain results. The best part about Photoshop is that there is a million different ways to do everything, and the more you know how to use it, the easier it’s going to be to get the look you want and experiment.

Some of my favourites are:

But there are a lot on the site, and they’re all free! Check it out.

dailybooth

dailybooth.com_01Someone had to invent it, right? Social networking + digital photography = DailyBooth. Basically it’s a website that lets you post a photo of yourself daily, as though you went into a photobooth and took a picture every day. You may ask why? But aside from the obvious (it’s the internet so of course this has to exist), I do think it’s a pretty cool idea. It’s pretty interesting to look back on yourself or your friends a year later, or even years later, see how you’ve changed. Since everything is on the internet these days, why not another way to share your life?

There’s also this cool map feature that updates people’s pics in real time, which I spent an unusually long time watching…

lazyant photography

Usually I’m not too into commercial photography (probably because I studied it in school and I got sick of looking at it) but I can’t deny that commercial photographers really have amazing skills and do know how to take a good photo. I came across LazyAnt photography (two young Russian photographers – Kirill Smyslov and Nastya Kazakova), and I loved their commercial sets, especially this Young Zombies series. Of course, I love zombies, and creepy kid photos! Check it out below:
